যেমন: at, on,off, of প্রভৃতি।

Simple Preposition হলো সেইসব প্রিপজিশন যা মাত্র একটি শব্দ (Single word) দিয়ে গঠিত। ইংরেজি গ্রামারে এগুলো সবচেয়ে বেশি ব্যবহৃত এবং মৌলিক প্রিপজিশন হিসেবে পরিচিত। এগুলো সাধারণত কোনো Noun বা Pronoun-এর আগে বসে সময়, স্থান বা দিক নির্দেশ করে।

খ) সময় নির্দেশ করতে (Time):

• The meeting starts at 10 AM. (নির্দিষ্ট সময়)

• I was born in 1998. (সাল বা বছর)

• We will meet on Sunday. (দিন বা তারিখ)

গ) দিক বা অভিমুখ নির্দেশ করতে (Direction):

• She is going to school. (স্কুলের দিকে)

• The ball fell off the table. (টেবিল থেকে নিচে)

• He walked through the forest. (বনের মধ্য দিয়ে)

ঘ) উপায় বা মাধ্যম নির্দেশ করতে (Agency/Instrument):

• I write with a pen. (কলম দিয়ে)

• The letter was sent by post. (পোস্টের মাধ্যমে)
